Suzanne Klotz's art has been exhibited in over 300 solo and group exhibitions since 1972. Her sculptures and paintings are in numerous private and public collections including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Minnesota Museum of Art, and El Paso Museum of Art, to mention a few.
Klotz's artist-residencies include the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, Oklahoma Arts Institute and Lakeside Studio, Lakeside, Michigan. In 1990 Klotz was a resident artist-consultant at the Jerry Mason Memorial Centre (Aborigine Centre) in Berri, South Australia. Between 1990 and 1996 she arranged exhibitions and art collaborations between Israeli and Palestinian artists during guest residencies at Mishkenot Sha'ananim in Jerusalem, Israel, a nongovernmental, non-political, International Cultural Centre working towards peace.
Her initiatives include an exhibition of the collaborative art of twenty-four culturally and nationally diverse artists entitled "Through the Same Eyes" at the Salt Lake Arts Center. As a guest artist of the Baha'i Office of the Environment of Taiwan Klotz assembled an international exhibition of children's art and conducted workshops during Taiwan's "Month of the Environment" in 1996. Additional initiatives include youth workshops in Senegal and Burkina Faso, West Africa, and a collaborative exhibit entitled "Warriors and Dreamers" at the University of Arizona Joseph Gross Gallery.
In 2005 Suzanne Klotz was awarded a Change Inc. Rauschenberg Foundation assistance grant and a New York Artists' Fellowship Inc. assistance grant. In 2004 she was the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant and a Puffin Foundation grant. Her prior awards include an Arizona Artists 3-D Fellowship, Phoenix City Improvement Award for a commissioned public park, three National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, Arizona Governor's Award for Women Who Create, and Texas Tech University's Most Distinguished 2-D Graduate-Student Alumni Award.
Klotz attended Washington University School of Fine Arts in St Louis for two years of her undergraduate study. She holds a BFA Degree from the Kansas City Art Institute, Secondary Teaching Certification from the University of Missouri Kansas City and an MFA Degree from Texas Tech University. Her visiting-artist appointments include the University of Texas San Antonio, Arizona State University, University of Utah, California State University Stanislaus, Claremont Graduate University, and Scripps College, to mention a few.
